We are currently recruiting for a Finance & Administration Assistant to join a busy team in Wakefield on a temporary basis, with an immediate start available.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in finance, accounts administration or general office administration who enjoys working with figures, managing information and keeping processes running smoothly.
You don't need previous legal costs experience, as full training will be provided. We're looking for someone organised, numerate and detail-oriented who can manage a busy workload and ensure financial and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.

The Role

You will provide a range of financial and administrative support, helping to process payments, maintain accurate records, monitor outstanding items and ensure cases progress efficiently.

  • Processing payments, invoices and financial transactions accurately.
  • Checking figures, reconciling financial information and investigating discrepancies.
  • Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Monitoring outstanding actions and following up on payments where required.
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails and telephone calls.
  • Liaising with internal teams and external contacts to resolve queries.
  • Preparing reports and reviewing information to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Managing your workload effectively to meet deadlines and agreed service levels.
  • Following established procedures and identifying any potential financial discrepancies or risks.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in finance administration, accounts administration, accounts payable, purchase ledger, sales ledger or general office administration.

  • Previous experience in a finance or administrative role.
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Confidence working with figures and numerical information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and confidence dealing with a range of people.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Experience within a legal environment is not essential. If you have the right administrative and numerical skills and are keen to learn, this could be an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience.

What's on Offer?

  • An immediate-start temporary opportunity.
  • Full training on the role and relevant processes.
  • The opportunity to gain experience within a professional legal services environment.
