About the role: Part-Time Chef

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Part-Time Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a varied role, working primarily across our Café Menu and clubhouse food service, while also assisting with functions, events, weddings, golf competitions and other busy periods throughout the year.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and kitchen organisation, while working effectively as part of the wider kitchen team.

The Role

  • Prepare and cook dishes from our Café Menu to the required specification and presentation standards.
  • Provide high-quality food for golfers, members and visitors throughout daily clubhouse service.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of functions, events, weddings, golf competitions and other larger bookings.
  • Work effectively across different areas of the kitchen, supporting the team during busy services.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and served consistently, following agreed recipes, specifications and portion controls.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at all times.
  • Complete daily kitchen tasks, including preparation, stock rotation, cleaning and maintaining organised fridges, freezers and work areas.
  • Assist with deliveries, stock control and ensuring food is stored correctly.
  • Minimise food waste and work within agreed GP and portion control standards.
  • Follow function sheets and event specifications carefully to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Communicate effectively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team.
  • Support the kitchen during particularly busy periods and be flexible to the changing demands of the business.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are left clean, tidy and fully prepared for the next service.
  • Working Hours

This is a 30-hour per week part-time contract.

Additional overtime will generally be available throughout the year, with increased opportunities during the summer season, leading into the Christmas and festive period, as well as around functions, weddings, golf competitions and other busy events.

This role would suit someone looking for a guaranteed 30-hour position with the opportunity to regularly increase their hours through overtime.

  • 21 years and over:£12.75 per hour

Based on the 30-hour contracted week, this equates to approximately

  • 1820 years: £16,926 gross per year
  • 21 years and over:£19,890 gross per year

What We're Looking For

  • Previous kitchen experience is essential.
  • Experience working within a café, restaurant, pub, clubhouse or similar environment is desirable.
  • Experience working at functions or larger events would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work confidently as part of a team during busy services.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of food produced.
  • Reliable, punctual and willing to support the wider kitchen team.
  • Ability to follow recipes, specifications and instructions accurately.
