Job Role: Service Technical Planner
Location: Chesterfield, S41
Our client a well established manufacturing organisation based in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Technical Planner to join their dynamic, friendly Service Administration team.
This exciting role is crucial in ensuring the efficient delivery of contracted service works and reactive breakdowns and repairs, while optimising resource utilisation and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
As a Service Technical Planner, your role will include:
- Validate contracted service jobs prior to scheduling.
- Verify customer details, site access information, and equipment data.
- Determine required engineering competency and resources required.
- Route works to maximise efficiency and minimise travel time.
- Protect diary capacity to accommodate reactive breakdowns.
- Balance engineer workload for strong utilisation.
- Issue complete job packs, including RAMS, stock, and access details.
- Ensure engineers are fully briefed and equipped.
- Communicate schedule updates promptly to relevant parties.
- Support achievement of first-time fix performance.
- Respond promptly to urgent breakdowns in line with SLA requirements.
- Reprioritise schedules when necessary and manage customer expectations during delays.
- Issue certifications promptly and close jobs within the system.
- Track reactive versus planned workload balance and provide performance data to the Service Manager.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.

- Proficient in IT, including scheduling systems, CRM software, and route optimisation tools.
- Understanding of service-level agreements and performance metrics.
Working Hours - Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm office based
