People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Runcorn.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing assignments, weekly pay, overtime opportunities, immediate starts, paid induction and genuine long-term opportunities with a leading logistics business.
New passes are welcome, as full training will be provided on site.
This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Rates of Pay:
- £18.22 per hour Monday to Friday
- £21.00 per hour Saturday
- £22.00 per hour Sunday
Shift Pattern:
- 4 on 4 off
- 19:00 - 07:00

Day-to-Day Duties:
Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver are:
- Completing yard shunting duties and vehicle movements around the site
- Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out unit movements on the yard
- Ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy
- Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
- Assisting with loading and unloading where required
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
Essential Skills:
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will need:
- Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99 endorsement xrnqpay codes
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- Good understanding of UK road traffic legislation
- Strong communication skills
Training:
- Driver assessment required prior to starting
- One-week paid induction following a successful assessment
- Industry-related training provided
- Ongoing support throughout your assignment
