About the role:
We are recruiting for a Residential Childcare Worker to contribute to the development of Family Care Group's residential service in a manner that maximises the children's and young people's life chances. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with all duties in connection with the safe day to day running of the home.
- Working with the staff team to implement Family Care Group policies and ensure the highest quality of care is delivered to the children within our care.
- Support care planning by attending meetings and maintaining accurate, timely records.
- Act as a Key Worker, fulfilling responsibilities within agreed deadlines.
- Attend supervision sessions, appraisals, and training programs.
- Represent the company professionally when required.
- Perform scheduled sleep-in duties.
- Provide high-quality care, considering each child's individual needs and background.
- Maintain effective communication within the home and with external agencies/families.
- Contribute to assessments and action records where appropriate.
- Keep all records and information confidential and compliant with policies and regulations.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including COSHH standards.
- Notify supervisors of any absences and declare potential conflicts of interest.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by management.
What we need from you:
- Experience of working with children in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- NVQ 3 in Level 3 NVQ Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent - Desirable.
- Experience of working in a children's residential setting.
- Full driving licence.
- Evidence that shows you have a right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to understand and work in partnership in the best interests of children.
