An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join a major £75m energy infrastructure project in South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, construction or energy who is looking to develop their career within the rapidly growing UK energy and renewable sector.
You will work as part of an experienced commercial team, gaining valuable exposure to a major energy infrastructure project with genuine long-term career progression. As the business continues to grow, there is a clear pathway to progress into Senior QS and ultimately Commercial Lead positions.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management and successful delivery of a high-profile energy infrastructure project. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and wider project team, you will be involved in subcontract management, cost control, commercial reporting and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing subcontractor accounts, applications and valuations
- Assisting with subcontractor final accounts and commercial close-out
- Supporting commercial reporting, forecasting and budget management
- Producing accurate Cost Value Reports (CVRs)
- Monitoring project costs, risks and commercial performance
- Reviewing contracts, rates and procurement packages
- Supporting the procurement and management of subcontractors
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and commercial improvements
- Assisting with variations, change control and commercial claims
- Supporting the Commercial Manager with client and stakeholder management
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
Requirements
To be considered for this Quantity Surveyor opportunity, you should have:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, construction or energy
- Experience managing or supporting subcontractor accounts
- Good understanding of commercial and contractual processes
- Experience with valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
- Good commercial awareness with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a wider commercial and project team
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercial experience
- Full UK driving licence preferred
