Role:
The Principal Engineer role for TV Rheinland Solutions requires that all activities are undertaken to a high standard, meeting the delivery requirements for projects and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
The role requires you:
- To apply your knowledge of Rolling Stock to a well-established Rolling Stock consultancy business with a growth outlook.
- To be responsible for the winning, management and delivery of your own projects, reporting both financially and technically to the Team Leader.
- Be collaborative working with the existing team, whilst having the opportunity to influence the type of work the team delivers.
- To draw upon your prior experience and contacts to support business development.
Functional Scope:
To be responsible for delivering a broad portfolio of rolling stock related consultancy projects to a high standard, with a primarily UK focus, developing and maintaining client relationships and managing projects of varying size.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing proposals and undertaking account management activities to enhance client relationships and secure further work.
- Providing technical leadership, oversight and support for more junior team members.
- Supporting the team through high quality technical checking and approval.
- Managing projects, controlling budgets, quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Personally delivering, delegating and supporting the team in delivering technical consultancy services to clients which add value and meet the needs of the end client.
- Supporting the Team Leader by using industry experience and knowledge to input to strategy and tactics.
- Play a key role in contributing to sales income through active client engagement to build and maintain the order book for the business.
- Representing TV Rheinland at industry events and committees such as marketing events, as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- 10-15 years of experience in the rail industry.
- Chartered Engineer status, typically through IMechE or IET.
- Extensive experience in rolling stock engineering, including consultancy services.
- Strong problem-solving ability, excellent technical communication skills, sound commercial awareness, and a high level of professionalism and integrity.
