We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Outfitter to work on a marine vessel in Portland. The successful candidate will have previous marine experience and be confident fitting both exterior components and interior furniture to a high standard.
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded business within the marine industry.
Duties and responsibilities:
Fitting marine components, including cleats, handrails, windows, hatches, stanchions and flooring.
Completing the final installation and finishing of interior furniture.
Carrying out outfitting work on marine refit and new-build projects.
Reading and working accurately from technical drawings.
Measuring, drilling and securing hardware, hatches and other components using hand and power tools.
Measuring, cutting and installing insulation within designated areas of the vessel where required.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest standard.
Qualifications and requirements:
Previous experience working within the marine industry.
Experience working on yachts or other marine vessels.
NVQ Level 3 in Boatbuilding or Carpentry, or completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings. xrnqpay
