In this role you will be responsible for carrying out precise measurement, inspection, and calibration activities, while supporting quality standards, production requirements, and customer acceptance processes.

This is what you'll be doing:

Carry out precise measurement and inspection of components, castings, and forgings using manual measuring equipment, CMMs, and 3D scanning systems.
Produce detailed measurement reports while ensuring full traceability of samples, inspection results, and associated quality records.
Complete material integrity testing, including ultrasonic inspection and hardness testing using Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, and Leeb methods.
Maintain, calibrate, and control gauges and measuring equipment, working with external calibration providers where required.
Support wider quality assurance activities and provide cover for Customer Acceptance Line (CAL) responsibilities during periods of absence or increased workload.

The experience you'll need in this role:

Previous experience within metrology, quality inspection, calibration, or a similar precision engineering environment.
Confident using precision measurement equipment, gauges, and a range of inspection tools.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and relevant quality standards accurately.
Strong attention to detail, with good organisational and documentation skills.
Experience with CMM programming, Opticline systems, or 3D scanning technology would be advantageous.
Knowledge of ultrasonic testing, hardness testing, or metallurgical preparation techniques would be beneficial.
Previous experience within aerospace, automotive, defence, or another high-precision engineering environment is desirable.
