Job Overview

Are you a social media enthusiast who knows how to turn a scroll into a story, a follower into a community, and engagement into donations? As Social Media Manager at Muslim Hands, you'll take the lead in shaping our social media strategy across all our fundraising markets: UK, USA, Canada (CA), South Africa (SA) and France (FR).

From Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to YouTube, X, Reddit and whatever comes next, you'll know how to make every platform count. You'll bring our global strategy to life by working closely with country offices, sharing clear briefs, constructive feedback and performance insights to help teams create content that makes an impact. You'll also get out into the field regularly to capture authentic stories, gather content and connect with our fundraising teams. If you're just as comfortable analysing the numbers as you are spotting the next big trend, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver our social media strategy across all existing and emerging platforms in the UK, USA, CA, SA and FR.
  • Manage social content creators across fundraising offices, providing clear briefs, constructive feedback and regular reporting.
  • Champion the Muslim Hands brand and tone of voice across all social media content.
  • Conduct social media audits to identify opportunities and improve channel performance.
  • Monitor online conversations, audience sentiment and emerging issues through social listening.
  • Manage organisation wide requests and develop a clear social media briefing process.
  • Engage with key followers and influencers across our social media accounts.
  • Track and report on key metrics, including engagement, follower growth, impressions and reach.
  • Travel to the field to capture compelling content and authentic stories.
  • Attend UK and international events, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Person specification

  • Experience in a fast paced fundraising environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • A test and learn mindset, with a passion for experimenting and improving social content.
  • A data driven approach to optimising performance across channels.
  • Experience using Meta, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok.
  • A keen eye for social media trends and emerging platforms.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills.
  • A creative thinker who enjoys trying new ideas and challenging the norm.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Content creation experience, including graphic design and video production skills.
