My Client based BT13 area of Belfast require a Medical Receptionist to join their team on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Practice Manager you will provide a point of contact for patients; to assist in the day to day running of the surgery; to act as a point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff. This post is temporary with the view to becoming permanent
Reception Duties
- General reception duties - greeting patients in person and on telephone
- Making, cancelling appointments
- Providing information regarding practice services
- Entries into patient's computer records as directed
- Liaising with pharmacist, nursing homes, where required to provide repeat prescriptions when authorised
- Coordinating patient appointments, hospital letters, prescription requests and information with the Treatment Room nurses and other staff members to ensure procedures are effective, and patient's and Doctor's requirements are met in an efficient and accurate manner
- Diary management
- Maintain a tidy reception desk and public areas
- Organising, filing and maintaining patient records
- Undertake opening and locking -up of surgery as required
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role to include telephone & face to face contact (Previous proven experience in a GP surgery advantageous)
- Fully computer literate
- Excellent communication & organisational skills
- Educated to GCSE grades A - C including English & Maths
- Flexible approach to work.
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
- An ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, personal initiative and knowledge to
- respond to patients' enquiries and requests
21.5 hours pw - Mon 8.30am - 6pm, Wed 8.30am - 1pm & Fri 8.30am - 6pm
