Sales Development Representative (SDR) - up to 30 K base + commission (dependent on experience) - Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (hybrid)

We are looking for an ambitious SDR looking to take on a new challenge and more responsibility within a newly formed revenue team. The Sales Development Representative is responsible for creating qualified sales opportunities through disciplined outbound prospecting, consistent call activity, high-quality engagement with target accounts, proposal support, quote production and booking demos for the training team to deliver.

For the first six months, the role will focus on working through targeted call lists, testing outreach messaging, enriching the CRM, improving data quality and helping shape a repeatable outbound strategy alongside the Head of Revenue and Marketing team.

The longer-term purpose of the role is to help modernise and mature the revenue function by establishing outbound best practice, improving systems and processes, and becoming capable of supporting the recruitment, onboarding and day-to-day management of an additional SDR hire.

Key responsibilities:

Outbound Prospecting

  • Work through targeted outbound call lists with pace, discipline and a clear focus on generating qualified conversations.
  • Consistently meet agreed daily, weekly and monthly call targets while maintaining quality and professionalism.
  • Research target accounts and contacts to personalise outreach and improve connect-to-conversation conversion.
  • Qualify prospects using agreed criteria, book high-quality next steps for the appropriate sales owner, and arrange product or training demos for the training team to deliver where appropriate.
  • Capture objections, customer language and market feedback to help refine messaging, segmentation and campaign performance.
  • Support proposal building and accurate quote production by gathering prospect requirements, confirming relevant details and ensuring information is handed over clearly.

Revenue Systems & Process

  • Use the CRM consistently and accurately to record calls, outcomes, next steps, demo bookings, quote status, proposal activity, prospect status and campaign learnings.
  • Help identify gaps in outbound data, reporting, sequences and handover processes, escalating recommendations to the Head of Revenue.
  • Support the development of repeatable outbound playbooks, call structures, messaging frameworks and lead qualification standards.
  • Work closely with Marketing to provide feedback on campaign quality, lead sources, customer segments and messaging performance.
  • Contribute to the modernisation of the revenue function by adopting new tools, improving data discipline and helping embed better ways of working.
  • Coordinate effectively with the training team to ensure booked demos are well briefed, relevant to prospect needs and supported by accurate commercial information.

Required skills and experience:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a B2 B sales development, outbound sales, lead generation or similar revenue role.
  • Experience of SaaS within a healthcare setting would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to hit call targets, generate qualified conversations and maintain momentum in a target-driven environment.
  • Confident on the phone, able to open conversations, handle objections and create urgency with prospective customers.
  • Comfortable working in an evolving environment where systems, reporting, processes and team structures are still being built
  • Strong CRM discipline and attention to detail, with an appreciation for clean data, useful notes and measurable activity.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with the Head of Revenue, Marketing and wider commercial teams to improve outbound strategy.
  • Able to translate prospect requirements into useful proposal inputs, accurate quote details and well-briefed demo bookings for the training team.
