We're looking for a MEICA Project Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team working on the Environment Agency collaborative delivery framework based in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset - this role requires an active presence on site.
Hours: 45 hours per week – we can offer some flexibility on start and finish times if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
What will you be responsible for?
As a MEICA Project Manager, you'll be working within the Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team, supporting them by leading the delivery of the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation systems aspects of the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier, a landmark infrastructure project in Somerset and one of England's biggest flood defence schemes.
This is a vital leadership role requiring expertise in the review of designs, delivery, and commissioning of infrastructure for complex multidisciplinary projects.
Your day to day will include:
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary delivery team of up to 10 personnel on-site, including commercial, programme controls, engineering, and others to identify solutions to client requirements.
- Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Senior Management Team to guide and develop specialist teams, aligning them with project objectives for internal and external stakeholders and maintain P6 programme with the Planner throughout the project lifecycle at a level of detail suitable for operational delivery teams as well as monitoring project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Take ownership of the MEICA elements of the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Scheme, from design development through to final commissioning and handover in alignment with project timelines, manage and oversee interface management between MEICA systems (including Structural Steel Structures, cladding) and civil works, ensuring integration with the wider civil and structural works packages.
- Coordinate MEICA subcontractors, consultants, and in-house resources to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality delivery and coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure specifications and project commitments are met.
- Ensuring all MEICA installations comply with relevant standards (e.g. BS7671, IEC 61508, WIMES, EA standards) through the implementation of quality processes as well as ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, Kier SHE policies, and industry best practice.

- Relevant qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering disciplines.
- CSCS, SMSTS or equivalent health and safety certifications.
- Understanding and direct experience with MEICA integration in civil engineering projects, industry regulations, standards and H&S legislation (e.g. BS7671, IEC 61508, CDM, ATEX/CompEx/DSEAR).
- Automation, SCADA, PLC, telemetry, and HV/LV electrical systems in coastal or flood defence settings.
