The Marketing Director will own the end-to-end marketing strategy across this multi-product fintech. You will be accountable for brand development, brand awareness, customer acquisition, and growth across all channels. This role is central to our scaling journey: building the marketing foundation, shaping our voice in the market, and driving adoption across both B2C and B2B audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Build and execute a unified marketing strategy across all products and customer segments (consumer, SME, corporate).
- Own customer acquisition, activation, and retention strategies across paid, earned, owned, and partner channels.
- Develop clear growth frameworks such as OKRs, funnel metrics, CAC/LTV modelling, and channel performance dashboards.
- Define and evolve the brand strategy, architecture, messaging, and tone of voice across the full product suite.
- Oversee creative direction, ensuring brand consistency and strong product differentiation.
- Lead narrative development for product launches, investor communications, pitch decks, and broader thought leadership.
- Digital & Performance Marketing
- Build a scalable paid media strategy across social, search, programmatic, affiliate, and video channels.
- Own website strategy, conversion optimisation, landing pages, and overall CRO.
- Develop a culture of growth experimentation (A/B tests, funnel optimisation, creative testing).
- Customer Lifecycle & CRM
- Build an integrated CRM lifecycle covering onboarding, activation, engagement, upsell, and retention.
- Deploy automation, segmentation, and personalisation across email, push, in-app, and web channels.
- Manage tools such as HubSpot, Braze, or similar to create streamlined, scalable journeys.
- Product Marketing
- Translate complex fintech capabilities into clear, compelling value propositions for B2C and B2B audiences.
- Own go-to-market (GTM) plans for new features, product expansions, and market launches.
- Conduct customer insights, persona development, and competitive analysis to inform product direction.
- PR, Communications & Market Presence
- Lead PR strategy, media relations, industry commentary, and thought leadership.
- Strengthen Volopa’s presence across fintech, payments, FX, SME finance, and digital money management sectors.
- Represent the brand at events, conferences, and key industry forums.
- Team Building & Operations
- Build and scale a small, high-performing marketing team across acquisition, CRM, content, and product marketing.
- Manage agency relationships and negotiate strategic marketing partnerships.
- Own the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation and strong ROI.
Skills & Experience Required
- 8–12+ years of progressive marketing experience in fintech, payments, FX, SaaS, or high-growth digital products.
- Proven experience scaling marketing functions in early-stage or rapidly scaling technology companies.
- Deep expertise across digital acquisition, CRM/lifecycle, product marketing, and brand strategy.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience using data and analytics to drive growth decisions.
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
- Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator, comfortable working closely with C-suite stakeholders.
- Experience with regulated financial products or compliance-heavy environments (advantage).
