Shift: 4 on, 4 off permanent nights | 6pm - 6am

Are you an experienced Engineering Team Leader who enjoys leading from the front rather than sitting behind a desk? This Engineering Team Leader position offers a salary of up to £62,000, a consistent four-on, four-off night shift and the opportunity to take real ownership of engineering performance across a busy food-packing site.

The role:

  • As the Engineering Team Leader, you will be the senior engineering presence on shift, responsible for organising the workload and ensuring production receives an effective engineering service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting one Maintenance Engineer
  • Prioritising breakdowns and planned maintenance
  • Remaining hands-on with electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Minimising downtime across the production and packing lines
  • Organising PPMs and ensuring engineering work is completed properly
  • Working closely with production to manage engineering priorities
  • Supporting improvements to equipment reliability and site performance
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and engineering documentation

What they’re looking for:

  • The Engineering Team Leader they need will be a strong, multi-skilled engineer with experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
  • You will ideally have:
    • Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
    • Experience within food, FMCG, packaging or another manufacturing environment
    • Previous supervisory, team-leading or senior engineering experience
    • Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience
    • The ability to organise maintenance activity and set clear priorities
    • A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
    • The confidence to make decisions and take ownership during the night shift

This could also suit an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer or Lead Engineer who is already supporting others and is ready to step formally into an Engineering Team Leader role.
