JMC Aviation is working with a Maintenance Repair Organisation based in Birmingham, looking to recruit a new CNC Machinist to join their team. This client is a leading MRO dealing with base maintenance as well as interior modifications, fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.
This is a Permanent Position based in Birmingham, UK. Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide support to the Aircraft Technicians which will enable them to work efficiently in their duties. The Machinist operates machine tools such as lathes and milling machines to cut and produce precision parts, instruments, production jigs and bespoke tooling. The role is a vital part of supporting the Part 145 MAOS and C rating capability, ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining quality control and adhering to safety protocols.
Key responsibilities include:
- Machining parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders
- Measuring, examining and testing completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Setting up, adjusting and operating all the basic machine tools and specialised or advanced variation of tools in order to perform precision machining operations
- Adhering to company and manufacturers policies and procedures
- Housekeeping, maintaining cleanliness in the workshop
In order to be successful in this role the CNC Machinist will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Conventional machining experience
- General machining skills, milling, turning, surface grinding etc.
- Knowledge of XYZ programming using lathe and milling machine
- Understanding of workshop equipment, machinery and tooling
- Knowledge of MS Office applications
