Duties for the role of Graduate Town Planner:
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
- Supporting planning appraisals and development potential assessments
- Undertaking planning policy research and reviewing local planning documents
- Assisting with the preparation of planning statements, reports and representations
- Supporting senior colleagues with planning appeals and enforcement matters
- Assisting with development plan and Local Plan representations
- Liaising with local planning authorities and other professional consultants
- Undertaking site visits and gathering information to support planning advice
- Monitoring planning applications and progressing projects through the planning process
Requirements for the role of Graduate Town Planner:
- A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a closely related discipline which is RTPI accredited
- A genuine interest in the UK planning system and development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good research and analytical abilities
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive, positive and practical approach to problem solving
- The confidence to work collaboratively while also taking responsibility for your own workload
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally
