Business Support Officer

Location: Lyndhurst

Salary: Β£27,514 Β£31,374 per annum (pro-rata)

Hours: 32 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Working pattern: Flexible 4 5 days or job-share (2 16 hours)

Are you an organised administrator with excellent communication skills and a passion for great customer service?

Join a busy Environmental Services team, providing essential administrative and customer support across environmental, licensing and regulatory services.

What you ll be doing:

  • Be a key point of contact for residents, businesses and colleagues through phone, email and web chat.
  • Accurately log enquiries, provide clear operational guidance and refer complex regulatory matters to specialist officers.
  • Prepare licences, process payments, reconcile corporate credit cards and manage purchase orders.
  • Manage specific workflows, including pest control enquiries and administrative processes supporting local testing and animal welfare services.
  • Coordinate meetings, record actions, schedule compliance reminders and keep database records accurate and up to date.

What we re looking for:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including English and Mathematics.
  • Substantial experience working in a busy office administration environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with difficult or sensitive enquiries calmly and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
