You will support the dispute resolution partner and the wider team across the working end of contentious matters.

Bermuda is a major centre for insurance, reinsurance and investment funds, so the caseload is international, high value and varied.

Bermuda also has no personal income tax.

  • What you'll be doing as a Litigation Paralegal

Legal and factual research and analysis, reviewing and analysing documents, drafting legal documents and affidavits, costs review and bill of costs assessments, plus passing legal information to clients under attorney supervision.

Case management sits at the centre of the role.

What we're looking for in a Litigation Paralegal

  • At least 3 years' experience as a paralegal in a commercial or private client dispute resolution environment
  • A recognised paralegal qualification, a law degree or equivalent, backed by a sound educational record
  • Experience supporting attorneys on contentious proceedings, across both small and large value litigation
  • Costs review and bill of costs assessment experience
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with document management software
  • Strong organisation, plus the composure to produce quality work under pressure
  • The confidence to deal with local and international clients without supervision
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, plus discretion in all matters
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when a matter demands it
  • Leadership opportunities may be available for experienced Working Forepersons or Team Leaders.
