Working across a range of social, public sector and community research projects, you'll engage with members of the public and collect valuable insights that help organisations make informed decisions and improve services. This is a field-based role where no two days are the same. One day you may be interviewing residents about local services, while the next you could be supporting a national government study or public consultation. Whether you're an experienced interviewer or simply someone who enjoys talking to people, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Visiting pre-selected addresses and locations within your assigned area.
  • Approaching members of the public professionally and encouraging participation.
  • Conducting face-to-face interviews using a tablet or mobile device.
  • Explaining survey objectives clearly and answering participant questions.
  • Recording responses accurately and to strict quality standards.
  • Managing your workload independently and meeting project deadlines.
  • Following all research protocols, GDPR requirements and health and safety procedures.

This role does not involve sales, fundraising or cold selling. It is focused solely on independent research and gathering public opinion.

What We're Looking For:

  • Enjoys engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Has excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Is confident working independently.
  • Demonstrates resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Is organised and able to manage their own schedule.
  • Can follow research procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Takes pride in collecting high-quality data.

Essential Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to a car and willingness to travel locally.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Comfortable using tablets, smartphones and basic digital systems.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends when required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in market research, customer interviewing, field sales, community engagement, canvassing, healthcare outreach or customer service.
  • Experience working on public sector, social or government-funded research projects.

What We Offer:

  • Full paid training and ongoing support.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Competitive earnings.
  • Mileage reimbursement and travel expenses.
  • Opportunities to work on nationally significant research studies.
  • A supportive and inclusive team culture.
  • Continuous development opportunities for high-performing interviewers.

Why This Role Matters:

The information you collect helps organisations understand public experiences, attitudes and behaviours. Findings from research projects can influence public services, community programmes, transport planning, health initiatives, policy development and future investment decisions. As the face of our research team, you'll play a direct role in ensuring the voices of local people are heard.
