Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or local accounting standards.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to prevent errors or fraud.
- Monitor adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants or clerks.
- Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and provide performance feedback.
- Assist with training and development of new team members.
- Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting procedures.
