This isn't a caretaker role. It's a turnaround seat with a plan behind it.
A UK manufacturer is in the middle of a deliberate step change: a clear plan to grow both revenue and enterprise value. Finance sits at the center of that plan, and we need an interim leader who can make an impact from week one.
Clean management accounts are the price of entry. The real job is finding where the business makes money and where it doesn't, where cash is tied up, and where cost is leaking, and then going onto the factory floor, and getting it fixed. You'll work directly with the Board to drive, shape and influence decisions.
You'll hit the ground running on:
- Cash: owning the rolling forecast in a working capital heavy business
- Working capital across stock, raw materials, debtors and creditors
- Product, channel and customer profitability, and the actions that follow from it
- Standard costing and factory margin
- Monthly reporting and board commentary that explains the numbers
- Oversee the core Finance function, reconciliation, controls, payment runs, ensuring strong communication through-out the business and to all third parties
- Drive Process improvement
What You'll bring:
- Qualified Accountant
- Manufacturing experience, with deep understanding of Standard Costings, BOMs and factory margin
- Highly capable on cash, with a proven track record of building, owning and acting on cash flow forecastsA demonstrable track record of identifying commercial problem, building the case and seeing the improvements through
- Confident with data, ability to build the reporting rather than wait for someone else to do it
