Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within theEnabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do? As Consents Compliance Manager , you will lead the coordination, management and assurance of environmental permits, licences and consent compliance across the Enabling & Earthworks programme.
Working closely with delivery teams, client representatives, regulators and environmental specialists, you will ensure construction activities are carried out in line with all consent requirements throughout design, construction and handover.
Reporting to the CWA Consents Lead, you will be a trusted advisor to operational teams, helping embed compliance into day-to-day delivery while supporting the successful progression of this nationally significant project.
What You'll Be Doing Act as the key point of contact for environmental consent and permit compliance across delivery teams.
Lead and develop the CWA compliance programme.
Create and deliver engaging compliance briefings and awareness sessions.
Develop consent management procedures, inspections, forms and compliance records.
Produce compliance dashboards, trackers and performance reporting.
Build strong relationships with project teams, client representatives and regulatory stakeholders.
Support audits, inspections and compliance assurance activities.
Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on compliance performance.
Lead and mentor a team including Consents Engineers and Assistant Consents Engineers.
What are we looking for? Essential Experience & Knowledge Experience working with environmental consenting and licensing authorities.
Strong understanding of environmental permits, licences and compliance management.
Knowledge of environmental consenting processes, including waste and water permitting.
Understanding of Environment Agency permitting and Development Consent Orders.
Experience advising delivery teams on compliance requirements and controls.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
High levels of organisation and attention to detail.
Desirable Experience on major infrastructure, energy or construction projects.
Auditing, assurance or compliance management experience.
Relevant environmental or construction-related degree.
IEMA membership (or equivalent professional membership).
Experience working with local communities and external stakeholders.
