Our Client a leading Law firm based in York have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join their busy private client team due to retirement.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with legal secretarial experience, someone with office experience or a law graduate looking for their next role (must be willing to stay in a Legal Assistant position for a min of 2 years).
Working 35 hours a week Monday-Friday office hours. Salary between Β£ depending on experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepared and amended legal documents and correspondence through audio/copy typing, ensuring accuracy, proofreading, and compliance with firm standards.
- Managed client files, deeds, and legal documentation using case management and online systems, maintaining regulatory compliance and confidentiality.
- Handled incoming and outgoing correspondence, filing, scanning, document retrieval, and general administrative support.
- Delivered professional client service via telephone and face-to-face interactions, managing enquiries, appointments, diaries, meetings, and room bookings.
- Supported billing and accounts processes, including invoice preparation and documentation.
- Assisted colleagues and contributed to an efficient team environment while adhering to internal policies, risk management procedures, and money laundering regulations.
Person specification
- Excellent typing and MS office skills
- Previous legal admin/secretarial experience desirable or University graduate in law happy to commit to an assistant role for min of 2 years
- An interest in the legal environment
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Confident dealing with clients
- Strong team player and enthusiastic
