Sewell Wallis is delighted to be working with a leading global professional services organisation in Leeds, West Yorkshire, that is looking to recruit an HR Assistant to join their busy and collaborative HR team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Administrator or HR Assistant looking for their next step within a well-established, forward-thinking business. You'll be joining a fast-paced team where you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of HR processes and have the opportunity to develop your skills and career.
What will you be doing?
This is a varied HR role supporting the full employee life-cycle, with a particular focus on HR administration and ensuring processes are completed accurately and within deadlines.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing the full on-boarding process for new starters, including right to work checks, issuing offers and contracts, completing on-boarding activities and setting up employee records.
- Managing the off-boarding process for leavers and ensuring everything is completed within payroll deadlines.
- Processing changes to terms and conditions, including preparing letters and communicating changes to employees.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee information on the HR system.
- Processing changes such as cost centre moves, reporting line changes and contractual amendments.
- Responding to day-to-day HR queries, including maternity, paternity and flexible working.
- Supporting the wider HR team with projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Providing general HR team support, including preparing PowerPoint presentations, taking meeting notes and assisting with day-to-day activities.
- Ensuring all HR administration is completed accurately, efficiently and confidentially.
What skills are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who has previous experience working within an HR Administrator or HR Assistant role and is keen to continue developing their career within HR.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within HR administration or HR support.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- An understanding of UK Right to Work requirements.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
- The confidence to work independently and take ownership of your workload.
- Experience using HR systems - Workday experience would be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, adaptable and positive approach.
- The ability to work well as part of a busy and collaborative team.
