We are looking for an experienced and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our busy maintenance team on a double day shift rotation. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuous, safe and reliable operation of our production equipment, including die-casting machines, furnaces, ABB robots, presses and CNC machinery.
You will work closely with the Production and Maintenance teams to minimise downtime, respond effectively to breakdowns and deliver planned and preventative maintenance to improve overall plant reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a proactive and supportive Maintenance team.
- Maintain, repair and service die-casting machines and associated production equipment.
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
- Fault-find and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Support Production teams to ensure production targets and demands are met.
- Work with the Maintenance team to continually improve plant reliability, equipment performance and maintenance standards.
- Complete maintenance tasks and tickets accurately using the site's CMMS system.
- Provide detailed and accurate shift handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
- Carry out welding, fabrication and general mechanical maintenance work as required.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of equipment including furnaces, ABB robots, presses and other associated machinery.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with company procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will be a skilled Maintenance Engineer and ideally have experience within a die-casting or heavy manufacturing environment. You will be a practical, hands-on engineer with strong fault-finding abilities and the confidence to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer – essential.
- Strong mechanical engineering.
- Good hydraulic knowledge and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Good understanding of root-cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience working with die-casting machinery.
- Experience working with furnaces, presses and/or ABB robotic systems.
- Forklift licence.
- Overhead crane licence.
- Experience using a CMMS maintenance system.
