Here at SC Johnson Ltd, we have an opportunity for an Indirect Tax Manager to join our team based in Frimley. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary.
Location: Frimley, Surrey
Function: EMEA Shared Service Centre (EMEA SSC) – Indirect Tax Team
This role is eligible to work from home 1 day a week.
About the Indirect Tax Manager role:
Reporting to the head of Indirect Tax in EMEA, this role is to ensure that the EMEA Indirect Tax Team provide high quality customer focused Indirect Tax services. This is a key role, requiring proven strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to oversee/manage the delivery of Indirect Tax compliance by the team and offer VAT advisory services using collaborative and win/win mind-sets.

Key responsibilities of our Indirect Tax Manager:
- People manager for a team of around 5 people
- Provide Indirect Tax support/advice on various projects for EMEA e.g., business acquisitions, supply chain changes and any other business changes with an Indirect Tax impact.
- Manage Indirect Tax audits for EMEA countries with some need for overseas travel as and when required to attend the audits in person
- Overall accountability for Indirect Tax compliance reporting for EMEA countries for which the SSC has responsibility. Ensuring accurate and on time filing by third party provider.
- Managing the relationship with the third party compliance providers
- Driving the delivery of ongoing effectiveness improvements to the VAT compliance reporting process, by analysing internal processes and systems, recommending, and implementing procedural and policy changes using Lean tools and methodology.
What we're looking for in our Indirect Tax Manager:
Experience you'll bring:
- Significant VAT advisory (ideally 6 years plus) knowledge in EMEA in respect of legislation and practical application. This should be demonstrated by a high level of exposure to VAT in at least several EMEA countries. Either in Practice or In House. Ideally having been exposed to both, but not essential. Compliance experience only does not count
- Strong people management/Leadership skills to manage a growing multicultural team
- Strong knowledge Excel & PowerPoint, ideally also with experience in SAP
Behaviours you'll need:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and operate efficiently under continuous change
- Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills with strong stakeholder management experience – fluency in another European Language would be beneficial but not essential
