The summer holidays are already a distant memory, and demand for Science teachers is off to a flying start!
At Hays Education, we're already seeing long-term vacancies come through faster than they did at the same point last September. I currently work closely with 14 secondary schools across Kirklees, including schools in Huddersfield and Batley, and I'm looking to connect with talented Teachers of Science who are seeking their next long-term opportunity.
Last year alone, I successfully placed 10+ Science teachers into long-term positions across Kirklees, and with schools already recruiting, I'm expecting similar demand throughout this academic year. These roles are typically paid to scale, offer excellent support and, in many cases, come with the potential to become permanent appointments.
The RoleAs a Teacher of Science, you will:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Bring Biology, Chemistry or Physics to life in the classroom.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to maximise achievement.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and departmental initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised UK teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
- Experience teaching the Science curriculum within the last three years.
- Specialisms in Biology, Chemistry or Physics are all welcome.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for inspiring young people and raising attainment.
