Intersect Global are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing civil engineering main contractor delivering major water, utilities and infrastructure projects across Surrey and the South East.

The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure capital works projects from procurement through to final account.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager, operational teams, clients and subcontractors, you will play a key role in managing project costs, maximising commercial performance and identifying opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial management of water, utilities, infrastructure and civil engineering projects
Manage projects from procurement through to final account
Prepare cost reports, forecasts, valuations and monthly commercial reports
Prepare applications for payment, variations and final accounts
Manage subcontract procurement, payments, variations and final accounts
Administer NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management
Monitor project costs, budgets, expenditure and cash flow
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Work closely with operational and planning teams to monitor progress and programme performance
Manage scope changes and ensure commercial impacts are identified and recovered
Support monthly WIP reporting and commercial reviews
Develop strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
About You
We are looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with experience working within civil engineering, infrastructure, water or utilities.
You will ideally have experience managing the commercial aspects of capital works projects and a good understanding of NEC contracts.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, water or utilities
Strong understanding of commercial management and cost control
Experience working on capital works or infrastructure projects
Good working knowledge of NEC contracts
Strong cost reporting, forecasting and valuation skills
Experience managing subcontractor accounts
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related engineering subject
RICS or CIOB membership, or working towards professional qualification
