Team Life Income Protection
Working Pattern - Home working, full time. Monday- Friday 37.5 hours, with ad hoc visits to a Vitality office in Stockport, Bournemouth or London. Full time.

What this role is all about:
At Vitality, our claims teams play a crucial role in delivering on the promises we make to our members when they need us most. As an Income Protection Claims Specialist, youll use your expertise, judgement and customer focus to assess claims fairly, accurately and compassionately. Youll work alongside a highly skilled and supportive team, helping to deliver the right outcomes for our members while maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence, compliance and service.
Key Actions Assess Income Protection claims from initial notification through to decision, gathering and reviewing medical, financial and other relevant information to support fair and robust outcomes.
Manage claims in line with industry-leading practice, regulatory requirements and agreed Service Level Agreements.
Draft and issue clear, professional claims decision letters and other claims-related correspondence, including communications for senior stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with strategic underwriters, management, reinsurers and other stakeholders to support timely and accurate claim outcomes.
Share your expertise with colleagues, championing best practice and supporting technical development through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Deliver exceptional service by following internal client service practices and building trusted, rewarding relationships.

What do you need to thrive? Broad experience assessing and managing Income Protection claims, with strong knowledge of complex claim scenarios.
Experience working directly and effectively with the Financial Ombudsman Service on claims-related matters.
Strong experience working with reinsurers and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Confidence presenting ideas, training peers and sharing specialist knowledge across the team.
A detailed understanding of the UK insurance market and regulatory environment, alongside intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
