Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business that has built an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and customer service. Following continued growth and investment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to join the team at their East London site.

Your new role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance administration for the site with key duties including:

  • Purchase ledger including processing supplier invoices, statement reconciliations, query resolution and payments
  • Sales ledger including raising invoices, payment allocation and credit control
  • Payroll including processing weekly timesheets and payments, month-end and year-end requirements
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Supporting with accruals and prepayments
  • Assisting with year-end requirements

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a busy finance role and must possess strong purchase ledger and sales ledger experience. You will be highly organised, accurate and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Experience of payroll would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Sage Line 50, although this is not essential. The ideal individual will be proactive, dependable and have the ability to work on their own initiative.

  • Starting salary circa Β£37000 - Β£45000 dependent on experience
  • Discretionary bonus scheme

  • Working hours 37.5 per week with flexibility for an earlier start and finish time e.g. between 6.30-8am
  • Onsite role with parking. Commuting distance from Leyton, Wanstead, Hackney and Waltham Forest directions
