The Executive Protection Manager is responsible for the leadership, planning, and operational delivery of executive protection services for the organisation. This role ensures that all personal security risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated through a robust, intelligence-led approach that aligns with corporate risk appetite, global operations, and reputational considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and manage the global Executive Protection (EP) program, ensuring effective coverage, planning, and risk mitigation for business leaders and their families where appropriate.
  • Develop and implement EP protocols, including travel security planning, threat assessments, residential security, event security, and secure transportation.
  • Coordinate executive protection resources for both domestic and international travel, ensuring route planning, site assessments, and contingency planning are in place.
  • Manage and oversee internal EP teams and external specialist providers, including close protection officers, secure drivers, and residential security personnel.
  • Conduct ongoing threat and vulnerability assessments using open-source intelligence (OSINT), internal intelligence, and third-party services to ensure real-time situational awareness.
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Security, Executive Assistants, Communications) to ensure alignment of EP activities with corporate priorities.
  • Oversee and audit residential and office security measures for key executives, ensuring best-in-class technical and procedural controls.
  • Ensure EP practices are compliant with global legal and regulatory frameworks, including use of force, privacy, and human rights legislation.
  • Plan and manage the EP budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Lead on incident response and crisis management involving executives, ensuring rapid deployment and coordination with corporate crisis teams.
  • Deliver training, briefings, and awareness sessions for executives and their households on personal safety, travel security, and cyber hygiene.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold an accredited Close Protection qualification (SIA license or equivalent for jurisdiction).
  • Proven experience in a senior executive protection role within a corporate or multinational organisation.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing close protection teams across multiple jurisdictions.
  • In-depth understanding of personal security, threat management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Professional qualifications or training in Close Protection, Security Management, or Intelligence.
  • Experience with intelligence platforms, OSINT tools, and situational risk analysis.
  • Excellent communication, discretion, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Military, law enforcement, or government protective service background (desirable, not essential).
