Β£35,000 + Company vehicle, fuelcard, tools, materials and greate benefits.
This is a brand new opportunity with a newly established furniture and upholstery restoration company that has just launched in Scotland, built from the ground up around a genuinely better way to support and develop its technicians. Backed by an experienced operations team and already building a strong reputation, this is a rare chance to get in early with a growing business rather than joining an established, high-volume operation where you are just another number.
We are looking for an experienced Furniture Technician, Upholsterer, Furniture Restoration Technician or Upholstery Specialist to join the team on a field-based basis, covering the Aberdeen and Dundee area. If your background is in upholstery, furniture repair, furniture restoration, cabinet making, wood repair, French polishing, furniture spraying or domestic furniture manufacturing, this role offers genuine autonomy, excellent support and a fast, efficient way of working. We need someone in place as soon as possible, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
What you'll be doing:
Visit customers in their own homes across Aberdeen, Dundee and the surrounding area to inspect furniture and upholstery, diagnosing the repair or restoration work required
Carry out upholstery repairs, leather repairs and colour matching, plus cabinet and wood-based furniture repairs, to a consistently high standard
Plan and manage your own daily route and appointments, with genuine autonomy over how you organise your working day
Produce clear, accurate reports for both the business and the customer after each visit, using an efficient reporting system with direct support from a dedicated head office contact
Advise customers on ongoing furniture and upholstery care and maintenance
Represent the company professionally and deliver a consistently excellent standard of customer service
What we're looking for:
Significant hands-on experience in domestic upholstery, furniture repair, furniture restoration, cabinet making, wood repair or furniture production techniques
Strong working knowledge of modern furniture, upholstery and wood repair materials and methods
Confident written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear customer-facing reports
Well organised, proactive and methodical approach, comfortable planning and managing your own workload and route
Able to work independently, using your own initiative, while staying closely connected to head office
Full UK driving licence, given the field-based nature of the role across Aberdeen and Dundee
What's on offer:
Basic salary up to Β£35,000, depending on experience
Company vehicle provided
All tools, materials and restoration kits supplied, including leather and wood restoration kit
Parts ordered and sent directly to you ahead of each appointment, so you arrive fully equipped and failed calls are effectively eliminated
Company phone and handheld device provided for reporting and scheduling
Excellent structured training to get you up to speed quickly, plus ongoing support
Genuine autonomy over your working day and route, backed by an efficient reporting system and a dedicated head office contact
Full-time, permanent position with a company genuinely investing in how it supports its technicians
Immediate start available for the right candidate
