In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran, Wales.
Your Role
The Engineering Training Lead is responsible for leading the development and delivery of engineering training and learning programmes that support the growth of engineering talent, promote continuous learning, and ensure consistency in engineering standards and practices. Working closely with the VP Engineering, Development School Director, HR, Learning & Development, Technical Audit, and Engineering Leadership teams, the role identifies critical skills and training needs, develops targeted learning solutions, and drives the application of lessons learned across the organisation. The position also oversees engineering induction activities and supports new starters in becoming role-ready through structured learning, skills development, and a strong understanding of engineering systems, processes, and standards.
*Identify, develop and deliver training solutions to address current and future engineering skills requirements.
*Build and manage relationships with internal experts and external training providers to deliver specialist technical training.
*Collaborate with HR, L&D, Engineering Leadership and Heads of Function to capture skills needs, validate requirements, and maintain skills matrices.
*Develop accessible training materials and learning pathways that support professional development, career progression and organisational capability.
*Monitor and report on training effectiveness, supporting Technical Audit activities and driving measurable improvements through KPIs.
*Manage engineering learning resources, facilities and induction programmes to ensure employees become competent and role-ready.
Desirable Experience
*Degree educated (or equivalent) with an understanding of multiple engineering disciplines and professional development frameworks.
*Proven experience designing and delivering engaging learning and development programmes for engineering populations.
*Strong talent development experience, including partnering with internal subject matter experts to develop and deliver technical training.
*Experience supporting early career development, including apprentices, graduates and emerging talent.
*Demonstrated success in promoting continuous learning, career development planning and professional growth initiatives.
*Experience working with external training providers to coordinate cost-effective, high-quality learning solutions.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation. xrnqpay
