Payroll Administrator
Location: Colchester
Hours: Part-time - 2 days per week
Working Pattern: Monday in the office + either Wednesday or Thursday WFH
Salary: £32,000 pro rata

Are you an experienced Payroll Administrator looking for a part-time opportunity that offers flexibility and a supportive working environment?
We're working with a friendly and welcoming team in Colchester who are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join them on a part-time basis. This is a varied role where you'll be responsible for payroll administration, benefits and pensions processing, compliance and resolving payroll queries and discrepancies.
The Role
You'll be responsible for coordinating and administering payroll activities across designated EMEA locations, with a particular focus on the UK and Netherlands.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Administering UK weekly payroll for approximately 80-90 employees
- Processing UK monthly payroll for approximately 45 employees
- Supporting payroll administration for 4 Employer of Record employees
- Processing employee changes, payroll inputs and variable payments accurately and on time
- Assisting with benefits and pensions processing
- Liaising with payroll providers to resolve queries and investigate discrepancies
- Supporting payroll audits and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal processes
- Producing payroll reports and analysis for management
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring deadlines are consistently met
About You
We're looking for someone with previous payroll administration experience who is confident working with figures, investigating discrepancies and ensuring payroll is processed accurately.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a payroll administration role
- Experience with benefits and pensions processing
- A good understanding of payroll compliance and statutory requirements
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good Excel skills
- The ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Good communication skills and confidence liaising with internal teams and external payroll providers
Experience using systems such as Workday would be desirable, but is not essential.
