About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Clerical Officer (Band 2) to join a busy administrative team within a public sector organisation. This is a full-time temporary opportunity, providing administrative support and assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of clerical duties including managing information, responding to enquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting colleagues across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Responding efficiently to queries via telephone, webchat, and email
- Completing data entry across various systems, ensuring records and databases are kept accurate and up to date
- Managing confidential documentation, including scanning, filing, and organising sensitive information in line with procedures
- Providing general administrative support including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and assisting with team activities
- Applying discretion and judgement when resolving routine issues within agreed guidelines
- Following organisational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Essential Criteria
- Previous administrative/clerical experience (1-5 years)
- Intermediate IT skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
