Purchasing Assistant

We are looking for an organised, reliable and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our clients day to day purchasing activities.
This role would suit someone who is comfortable working with numbers, has Microsoft Excel skills and enjoys solving problems, learning new things and seeing tasks through to completion.
Previous purchasing experience is preferred but not essential but a positive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn and take responsibility are key for this role
Key Responsibilities
- Support day to day purchasing and procurement activities.
- Assist with purchase orders, supplier details and purchasing records.
- Use Excel and spreadsheets to maintain and check information.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and resolve issues where possible.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and colleagues.
- Manage priorities, meet deadlines and ensure tasks are completed accurately.
The Person
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with numbers.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A practical, problem solving approach and a willingness to ask questions.
- The ability to learn quickly, take feedback and adapt.
- An understanding of costs, value for money and commercial priorities.
