Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Canterbury
Job Type: Full time/Permanent (Hybrid)
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
Salary: £31,465 per annum
We are looking for a reliable and organised Finance Officer to join a busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands on experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger and general finance administration.
Key responsibilities
- Process and maintain purchase ledger transactions, including supplier invoices, credit notes and payment runs
- Manage sales ledger activities: raise and issue invoices, apply receipts and resolve customer queries
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts and prepare regular reconciliation reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and support month end closing activities
- Manage expense claims, petty cash and purchase order matching
- Support VAT returns and compliance tasks as required
- Provide general finance administration and maintain accurate financial records
- Liaise with other teams to resolve queries and improve processes
- Assist with audits and respond to information requests in a timely manner
Skills & Experience required
- Proven experience working with purchase ledger and sales ledger processes
- Strong background in general finance administration tasks
- Proficiency with accounting software and confident using Excel for reconciliations and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Good communication skills and ability to manage queries with suppliers and customers
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
