About Us
At Burgess & Hodgson, we want our online presence to reflect the quality of the firm behind it. Our small, ambitious marketing team works closely with partners and directors to share their expertise, tell client stories and create content that connects with our audience.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Content & Social Media Specialist who enjoys owning their work from start to finish, combining writing and design with strategy, scheduling and reporting.
This is a varied, hands‑on opportunity to shape how Burgess & Hodgson shows up online. You’ll work across written, visual and video content, helping us maintain a consistent brand and turn marketing activity into meaningful outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Writing compelling, technically sound copy for social media, email, web and campaigns, turning partner expertise, client stories and market insights into engaging content while maintaining a consistent brand voice across all digital touchpoints.
- Planning, writing and delivering HubSpot email campaigns aligned with wider marketing activity, monitoring results and recommending improvements to engagement and conversion.
- Managing our social channels day to day, including LinkedIn and Instagram, owning the content calendar, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, responding where appropriate and growing our visibility and relevance.
- Shooting and editing short‑form video for social and digital channels, and creating graphics and visual assets using Adobe InDesign, Canva and other design tools, involving external suppliers for larger production projects where needed.
- Using HubSpot to track campaign activity, manage workflows and maintain accurate data, working with our Growth Operations Manager to build reports, analyze performance and turn findings into clear recommendations.
- Keeping our WordPress website fresh, accurate and on‑brand, writing and optimising content to implement our external agency's SEO and GEO recommendations, understanding how search engines and AI tools surface information, and sharing analytics insights with the team and agency.
- Supporting digital campaigns, events and announcements, working closely with partners and directors to develop content that reflects their expertise and strengthens the firm's profile and reputation.
- Briefing and liaising with external SEO, design and production agencies to deliver work on time, while organising your workload and contributing reliably to a small team where everyone's output matters.
About You
You’ll be a creative, self‑directed content professional with commercial awareness and the confidence to take ideas through to delivery. You understand how content supports business outcomes and enjoy working collaboratively in a small, fast‑moving team.
You’ll bring:
- - At least three years' experience in a content or social media role, owning the function end to end, ideally within B2 B or professional services.
- - Exceptional copywriting skills and an understanding of how to write for a business audience.
- - Confidence creating written, visual and video content.
- - Experience using HubSpot, Adobe InDesign, WordPress and Google Analytics.
- - Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- - A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently.
