Outsource UK are recruiting for an Accounts Senior to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice in Preston. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Working closely with managers, partners, and clients, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio while supporting the development of junior team members. The role offers exposure to a broad range of clients and the opportunity to further develop your technical and client-facing skills within a busy general practice setting.
The Role
- Produce year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in line with relevant accounting standards
- Prepare draft corporation tax computations and supporting schedules
- Prepare schedules for tax returns
- Complete VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support
- Review work completed by junior team members
- Assist with the development and mentoring of junior staff
- Support managers with departmental responsibilities and client delivery
- Assist in managing outsourced accounting functions where required
- Deliver software training and support to clients
- Ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within budget
About You:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, currently studying, or qualified by experience
- Solid experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge across a range of client types
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero and IRIS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
