Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are recruiting an experienced and inspirational Headteacher to lead a specialist SEND school in Braintree, Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity for an established Headteacher, Head of School or experienced senior education leader to shape and develop a specialist provision supporting children and young people with SEND, including autism, ADHD and complex needs.
The Role
As Headteacher, you will have overall responsibility for the strategic leadership, educational direction and operational management of the school.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading the school's vision, strategy and improvement planDeveloping and overseeing a high-quality, personalised SEND curriculumEnsuring EHCP outcomes are embedded into learning and pupil progressProviding strong leadership across safeguarding, behaviour and pupil wellbeingMaintaining high standards of teaching and learningLeading, developing and inspiring the staff teamEnsuring the school meets SEND, safeguarding and regulatory requirementsWorking closely with families, Local Authorities and multi-agency professionalsRepresenting the school with Ofsted and other external stakeholdersManaging resources, compliance and continuous school improvementHeadteacher Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Proven senior leadership experience within SEND or specialist educationStrong knowledge and understanding of SEND provisionExperience supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD and complex needsStrong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirementsExperience leading and developing education teamsAbility to develop high-quality learning that supports academic, social and life skillsStrong leadership, communication and organisational skillsDesirable:
NPQH or equivalentSEND or leadership postgraduate qualificationNASENCo qualification or SEND leadership experienceExperience within independent, specialist or alternative provisionBenefits
