Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Business Developer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with their sales and operations teams, with a key focus on promoting and growing their import sea freight services. If you have a solid understanding of the freight forwarding and logistics industry, along with a strong track record in sales, particularly in import full container load (FCL) service, wed love to hear from you.
The Role, Key Responsibilities: Identify and secure new business. Promote our import sea freight services to prospective clients. Engage with potential clients via in-person meetings, phone calls, and networking events. Develop tailored presentations and proposals clients. Manage your own sales appointments and maintain a structured schedule. Attend sales meetings and provide regular sales performance reports. Create visit reports using the company CRM system. Achieve key performance indicators relating to profit generation, sales activity and client visits. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
What we are looking for: Previous experience in a sales role within the forwarding/logistics sector, specifically with a track record selling import FCL services. Strong knowledge of transport and worldwide logistics. A proactive, strategic approach to business development Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as needed. Excellent communication, negotiation, and phone skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results. Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
