Our client, a leading technology platform, is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join their team for an initial 12-month period. This is a hands-on role, working closely with the Financial Controller to support audit and take full ownership of the management accounts. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, trained in audit with post-qualified experience in industry. This role requires an immediate start.
Description
The responsibilities of the Senior Finance Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Own the full management accounting month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements, including supporting materials, and be the first point of contact for auditor queries.
- Work on technical judgements around intangible assets and impairment testing.
- Support the Financial Controller on tax computations and claims.
- Work on consolidations and the intercompany matrix.
- Support R&D capitalisation, documenting each stage of the process.
- Assist with process improvement across the function and clearly document for handover.
Skills
The skills of the Senior Finance Manager include but are not limited to:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), trained in audit with a minimum of three years post-qualification experience, ideally in industry.
- Strong IFRS knowledge is essential.
- Confident with goodwill and impairment testing, acquisition accounting and consolidation.
- Experience in a PE-backed or group environment would be beneficial.
- Previous experience in software or SaaS is desirable.
- Strong Excel skills are essential, and NetSuite is advantageous.
