Motorsport-standard precision. If you can programme and run PC-DMIS with confidence, this is where that skill actually gets used.
About the role and employer:
A leading motorsport and advanced engineering business in Banbury is looking for a CMM Programmer to join its Inspection team. You'll be working closely with Production and Quality to keep components moving through the shop with accurate, trusted measurement data, in an environment where the standard is genuinely motorsport-grade, not just described that way.
What you'll do:
- Write, validate and run CMM inspection programmes in PC-DMIS for new products and process changes
- Support goods-inwards checks and in-process/first-off inspection from the in-house Machine Shop
- Troubleshoot and optimise existing programmes for accuracy, repeatability and cycle time
- Produce clear dimensional inspection reports and ballooned inspection drawings
- Carry out manual dimensional inspection against 2D drawings, CAD data and engineering specifications
- Work across a range of inspection equipment including Trimos, Mitutoyo SurfTest, hand tools/gauges and hardness testing kit
- Act as the technical point of contact between Inspection and other departments on measurement results and concerns
What you'll bring:
- Proven metrology and inspection experience in motorsport or a low-volume automotive engineering environment
- Ability to programme and operate a CMM using PC-DMIS
- Strong 2D drawing, CAD data and GD&T interpretation
- Solid manual inspection and metrology technique, grounded in first principles
- PC-DMIS Level 3 training is a plus, as is Machine Shop inspection experience, FTA in CAD, and familiarity with composites, precision machining, surface coatings or subcontract operations
What's on offer:
£35,000 to £45,000 Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, fully on-site in Banbury. The chance to work inspection for a genuinely high-performance engineering environment.
