A leading manufacturing business based in Accrington is looking to recruit an experienced Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant on a 6-month temporary contract. Your new role
This role will have a strong focus on purchase ledger and supplier accounting activities, whilst also providing wider support across the finance function.
Duties will include:
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching, batching and coding invoices
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
- Preparing and assisting with supplier payment runs
- Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts
- Monitoring and managing the purchase ledger inbox
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Supporting month-end processes, including accruals and ledger reconciliations
- Assisting with sales ledger and general accounts administration when required
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or Accounts Assistant role
- Strong understanding of end-to-end purchase ledger processes
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment, ideally within manufacturing
- Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
