About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Impact: Guiding senior leadership on organisational design, workforce planning, and talent management within a unionised context.
  • Union Expertise: Leading and supporting collective bargaining negotiations, interpreting contracts, resolving grievances, and preparing for arbitration. You'll be the bridge, building strong, collaborative relationships with union representatives.
  • Employee Advocacy: Managing complex employee relations, ensuring fair and compliant practices in investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Talent Cultivation: Partnering with leaders to develop and implement talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies that align with both business needs and union agreements.
  • Compliance & Best Practice: Ensuring all HR policies and practices adhere to federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as collective bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred or CIPD Level 7).
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years as a Senior HR Business Partner or Manager in a unionised setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance handling, and arbitration.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.
