Some procurement roles are about processing purchase orders. This one is about keeping an electronics manufacturing operation moving. Our client is growing rapidly in the UK, and we are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to take ownership of day-to-day purchasing and sourcing for our UK operations.
You will source everything from semiconductors, passive components, connectors and RF/microwave components to production materials and high-value engineering and test equipment. This is a hands-on role where availability, lead times and supplier performance really matter.
What you will do:
- Source electronic components, production materials, equipment and services
- Obtain quotations, negotiate terms and raise purchase orders
- Manage suppliers, deliveries, shortages and changing priorities
- Source obsolete, long-lead-time and difficult-to-find components
- Support BOM sourcing, prototypes and New Product Introduction
- Develop alternative suppliers and strengthen supply-chain resilience
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning and Finance
- Help develop procurement processes as our UK operation continues to grow
What we are looking for:
You will already have experience sourcing electronic components within an electronics manufacturer, EMS provider, OEM, contract manufacturer, component distributor or similar environment. You should understand component manufacturers and distributors, lead times, shortages, obsolescence, MOQs and the realities of the electronics supply chain. Experience with PCB/PCBA, RF or microwave components, authorised distributors, traceability, counterfeit-risk management or defence/aerospace electronics would be particularly valuable. Most importantly, we want someone who is commercially astute, proactive and willing to take ownership. If you know how to find the components others struggle to source, negotiate effectively with suppliers and keep production moving, we want to hear from you.
