Logistics Controls & Compliance Manager

Location: Peterborough / Cambridgeshire

Join a Leading UK Food Manufacturer

We're partnering with one of the UK's leading food manufacturers, home to a portfolio of trusted household brands enjoyed by millions of consumers every day.

As the business continues to evolve and strengthen its supply chain capabilities, we are seeking a Logistics Controls & Compliance Manager to lead inventory governance, customs compliance, and logistics assurance activities across the UK operation.

This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to work across multiple functions, influence strategic decision-making, and play a critical part in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and efficiency of a complex supply chain network.

The Opportunity

This newly created role combines responsibility for inventory control, customs compliance, third-party logistics governance, and operational assurance into a single position.

You will act as the key subject matter expert for stock accuracy and customs compliance, ensuring robust controls are in place to minimise risk, improve operational performance, and support business growth.

Working closely with Logistics, Procurement, Supply Planning, Customer Services, Finance, IT, warehouse partners, customs agents, and third-party logistics providers, you will drive best practice across all aspects of logistics governance.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Stock Governance

  • Own stock accuracy across all locations, brands, and temperature regimes.
  • Lead stock reconciliation activities across ERP, WMS, and third-party warehouse systems.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and drive root cause resolution.
  • Manage annual stock counts and inventory audit activities.
  • Drive initiatives that reduce waste, stock loss, and inventory-related costs.

Customs & Trade Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with UK and international customs regulations.
  • Manage relationships with customs agents and brokers.
  • Oversee import and export processes to ensure smooth and compliant movement of goods.
  • Monitor customs-related costs, duties, and fees.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on customs and trade-related matters.

Logistics Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage logistics controls and compliance processes across the UK operation.
  • Lead logistics and compliance audits.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

About You

We're looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded supply chain professional who combines strong inventory management expertise with a good understanding of customs and trade compliance.

You'll likely bring:

  • Experience in inventory management, logistics governance, customs compliance, or supply chain control functions.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP and WMS platforms.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers, warehouse operators, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of customs processes, import/export activities, and regulatory compliance.

Experience gained within FMCG, food manufacturing, consumer goods, logistics, warehousing, or a similarly fast-paced supply chain environment would be highly advantageous.

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to join a market-leading UK food manufacturing business.
  • Work with some of the UK's most recognised household brands.
  • High-profile role with significant cross-functional exposure.
  • Influence key supply chain decisions and operational improvements.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Excellent opportunity to shape logistics governance and compliance across a complex national supply chain network.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine inventory excellence, compliance expertise, and continuous improvement within a business behind many of the UK's favourite food brands, we'd love to hear from you.
