Oversee the maintenance and operational integrity of Buoy Systems used in the Single Point Mooring (SPM) Project. Identify and address maintenance needs promptly and conduct regular inspections and assessments of buoy conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for buoy systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Manage all diving and ROV operations and interventions, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout and assign tasks and manage resources effectively to meet project timelines.
- Oversee the management of spare parts and logistical contingencies to ensure timely availability and support for operations.
- Supervise the management of floating and subsea hose replacement, as well as the planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs of SPM (Single Point Mooring) systems.
- Manage tanker vetting, mooring, loading, and unmooring operations to ensure safe and effective vessel handling.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to coordinate maintenance activities and address concerns and provide regular updates on maintenance progress and project timelines.
- Develop and implement contractual documentation and operational procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency, while maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Prepare and present reports on buoy performance and maintenance status to management.
- Provide expert guidance on buoy systems and maintenance procedures and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist Project Manager during annual audits, in developing and monitoring maintenance budgets, ensuring cost‐effective operations and identify and implement strategies for reducing maintenance costs without compromising quality.
- Identify training needs and facilitate ongoing professional development for maintenance personnel to enhance skills and knowledge in buoy operations and safety practices.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- The ability to effectively assist with the relationship between marine and project personnel.
- Able to communicate effectively and articulately at all levels.
- Excellent ability to implement and monitor planned maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Excellent ability to provide remedial actions to outages affecting Mechanical Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, Telecom, Pedestal Crane, Control room team, HSE & Stores to ensure all maintenance is correctly performed.
- Consumables/ inventory optimized.
- Motivates electrical staff to comply with HSE and SMS objectives and requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY REQUIRED
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) mandatory, Microsoft Project and Auto Cad.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in relevant marine and offshore legislations, Inspection standards, class rules requirements, and industry codes.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
- Positive and solution-focused attitude with a clear goal-based approach to problem solving.
- Certification from a recognized commercial diving school (e.g., ADCI, IMCA) to demonstrate competency in underwater operations.
- Valid diving medical certificate to ensure fitness for underwater work.
- Safety trainings including Health and Safety Environment (HSE) like BOSIET/ EBS.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Reinforce and strengthen the HSE culture at every opportunity in operations and projects.
- Promote correct HSE behaviors through personal example.
- Take action upon any health, safety and environmental matter brought to their notice, and report to their Manager on any matter, which they are unable to rectify.
- Monitoring and evaluating emergency drills to ensure procedure is in place for emergency and incident situation.
- Ensure that the workforce under their control are adequately trained, competent and authorized for the operations, which they are required to perform, and kept informed of all relevant information to ensure their health and safety.
- Carry out appropriate induction training.
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees under their control.
- Assist in all safety inspections to ensure that the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
- Ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that the work place is kept free of potential hazards.
- Ensure that risk assessments are carried out.
- Evaluate processes and activities for the presence of hazards.
- Assess record and control the subsequent risk to a tolerable level.
- Conform with the emergency procedures applicable to their place of work.
- Ensure that the workforce is aware of, and understands, the emergency procedures.
- Facilitate effective two-way communication with the workforce on HSE issues.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks and Pre-Job Safety Meetings.
- Attend HSE Meetings and ensure workforce participation.
- Ensure all safety devices provided are utilized and maintained, protective equipment is worn, safety rules are observed, and safe-working practices applied.
- Ensure correct equipment usage, inspection and effective maintenance.
- Report and investigate all accidents and dangerous occurrences, including environmental incidents in the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and Company policy, plans and procedures.
- Ensure workers under their control are kept informed of all relevant information to ensure their Health and Safety, and the protection of the Environment.
HSE AUTHORITY
Having full authority to stop any unsafe work that may harm the health of personnel, cause injury to personnel or damage the environment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Valid Medical Certificate.
- Relevant 10 years' experience in same field.
