A leading logistics provider specialising in high-growth market segments is seeking an exceptional General Manager to take the commercial and operational lead for a strategic business unit. This role demands a unique blend of operational mastery and sharp commercial acumen, focusing heavily on P&L optimisation and market share capture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking full accountability for the P&L.
  • Developing and implementing aggressive commercial strategies to maximise revenue, improve gross margins, and control operational expenditures.
  • Serving as the senior commercial leader for key accounts.
  • Negotiating strategic contracts, ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, and identifying opportunities for up selling and cross-selling.
  • Overseeing the pricing structure and contract proposals for new and existing services, ensuring they are competitive yet highly profitable.
  • Leading initiatives to enhance yield management.
  • Ensuring all logistics operations (e.g., warehousing, distribution, supply chain management) meet required efficiency standards to support the commercial commitments and cost structures.

  • Demonstrated success in managing a substantial P&L (highlighting specific financial achievements in your application) and using financial data to drive operational and commercial decisions.
  • Proven track record in complex contract negotiation and developing strong, profitable relationships with high-value clients.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of logistics operations to ensure commercial promises are operationally viable and cost-effective.
  • Exceptional ability to interpret market data, cost structures, and financial reports to make strategic pricing and investment decisions.
